SVC LEADS $18M SEED IN RICKHOUSE, WHOSE SERVER COOLANT IS LEGALLY BOURBON

SAN FRANCISCO - Shitty Venture Capital, Inc. ("SVC") today announced it has led an $18 million seed round in RICKHOUSE, INC., a Kentucky company that immerses its GPU fleet in 130-proof whiskey and then sells the whiskey.

"Every other data center takes waste heat and throws it into the sky," said founder Rye Donnelly. "We take waste heat and turn it into a product with a 40% gross margin and a gift box. Aging is just thermal cycling with a story. We have the best thermal cycling in the world."

Managing Partner Chadwick Burnsworth III called the deal "the first investment this firm has made where the diligence process was enjoyable," adding that SVC completed a full memo on the company, a first for the firm and an event partners described internally as "unsettling."

The round was oversubscribed, according to the company, and undersubscribed, according to the cap table.

Asked about the fire marshal's written objection that "the entire building is the accelerant," Burnsworth said SVC had reviewed the document carefully and considered it "a compliment to the proof."

Full memorandum available here. Bottles are allocated by lottery. The lottery is Rye.
